Despite the sharp theme and stylish “electronic” design of the videos, Call of Duty 4 is still the same CoD 2 with a slightly powdered nose. The trimmed engine draws beautiful smoke, flashes and shader effects more often. Wooden shields and thin walls no longer save you from bullets, forcing you to choose a more reliable shelter. A car thrown in the middle of the street is not an option: a couple of bursts, and a powerful explosion will send the loser warrior to the forefathers. Back in business “dynamic chatter”, when the fighters react to changes in the situation, warning of ambushes, snipers and grenades, the camper principle “down with the first aid kit” and the boorish AI, checking actions with the orders of triggers. The Second World War has not disappeared anywhere – it moved to the Middle East and became more realistic.
