Despite the dire disasters, life in New York Zero is still glimmering. This is a world of contrasts: the lousy quality of textures and low viewing range strangely coexist with pretty effects, and ordinary townspeople digging in garbage cans – with the polished employees of the corporation “Gentek”. Representatives of social strata do not communicate with each other, for they are crammed into different islands. Unable to implement the idea with the player’s influence on the balance of power in Prototype, the authors sent it under the knife: the colored zones are rigidly fixed and open as they progress, just like in the GTA series.
